Series Project: Neon
For my series project I took photos and used the effect Neon on them. As I took photos I learned that photos with more solid colors looked best with the neon effect. For example an object against the sky works well because solid colors turn up black, where as an object against a textured background would be busier because the texter turns up as colored (I know that was a confusing explanation, but look at the top two photos, the sky is black and the water is colored). If the background was too textured (and busy) I used the Doodle effect and colored over it in black so an object could stand out. Enjoy!
I love this project. These photos are great, but there were some that you got rid of that I really liked and I'm sad that you didn't add them. Like the victorian dress and the cemetery one.
ReplyDeleteAlas, in my expert opinion I think that these are amazing. They are very cohesive and it's hard to says, but I think that 3rd, 6th, 8th, and 9th ones are my favorite! Awesome work!
Great job Zephy!!! These look really nice and I love how you used neon. I think that the landscape shots came out really nicely and you can tell you worked hard on this. Wonderful!

ReplyDeleteYour technique seems flawless in that the subject of your photos really pops out in an extraordinary way. The use of color is great and there is something so very focused about your photos which makes them fun to look at. my only negative comment is that the last photo does not seem to fit in to me because the rest of your photos are strong images of architecture, structures or plants.

ReplyDeletethese neon photos all work together well with a common feel to them. nice job making neon interesting for an entire series, you did it well. My favorites are the one with all the the purple bus cables, and the last one with the child on the beach
