Macro Spring
This assignment was to photograph spring in macro style.  I focused on photographing flowers because they make me think of spring.  While taking and editing these photos I tried to create contrast between a flower and its background, using blurring and color.  Some of my photos are in color and some in black and white.  Enjoy!

Team Photo Journal
Lena

I tried to use Lena's style to take her portrait.  I took a photo and made her look like a miniature figure using a tilt-shift app on my phone.

Kendall

In this portrait of Kendall I tried to use her style of manipulating shadow and lines.  I took her amongst these aspects.

Aubrey

Aubrey uses color, motion and blurring in many of his photos.  I tried to capture his style in this portrite using light painting.

Renna

In this photo I tried to use Renna's style of capturing emotions in her photographs to create a happy atmosphere.

Grace

In this photo I tried to use Grace's style of people photography.  She adds a very fashony vibe to her photos, I tried to capture Grace's style and personality.

Sam

Sam is very good at taking up close photos of nature, specifically flowers.  In this photo I tried to incorporate his style and the way he connects with nature.

Nora
In this portrait I tried to incorporate Nora's interest in land and city-scape photography as well as the mystery she adds to many of her photographs.

Zaina

Zaina has a very unique way of manipulating shape, texter and lighting in her photographs.  In this portrait I tried to mimic the way she uses texture and shape.

Eliza

Eliza has a very theatrical.  I tried to add some of her theatrical, dramatic style to this portrait as well as the suggestion of story.

Song
I chose the song Kiss Kiss Fall in Love to illustrate with photos.  I interpreted this song as very up beat and cheery, with a lot of feeling.  There are feelings of attraction and confusion and contentedness.  The three photos I took show both the feeling of the song and a literal interpretation.  The first photo tries to show the feelings of happiness and wildness that I hear in the song.  It also symbolizes taking a chance on love.  The second photo shows lots of flowers, with two singled out.  To me this symbolizes finding one love out of many people (a garden of people).  The last photo shows two people who have found there love.  I tried to tell the story that I heard in the song with these photos.

Series Project: Neon
For my series project I took photos and used the effect Neon on them.  As I took photos I learned that photos with more solid colors looked best with the neon effect.  For example an object against the sky works well because solid colors turn up black, where as an object against a textured background would be busier because the texter turns up as colored (I know that was a confusing explanation, but look at the top  two photos, the sky is black and the water is colored).  If the background was too textured (and busy) I used the Doodle effect and colored over it in black so an object could stand out.  Enjoy!

Experimental Sketchbook with Words:
I edited pictures that either reminded me of certain feelings I had at times.  I wrote words on them that reminded me of moments in my life, or words of what I was feeling at the present.  For some of these pictures I made the words out of place in the picture and for others I tried to make the words fit in.  Enjoy!
